| The Construction of Shanghai Hongqiao Business District Launched Ahead of Time |

According to the latest news, the construction work at the 1.4 km2 core area in Shanghai Hongqiao Business District which is designed to be the ”°West Gate”± for the linkage of Yangtze River Delta and the ”°New Engine”± of economic development in future Shanghai, will be formally launched in 2nd quarter this year.
Currently Hongqiao Business District has further clarified her function positioning and industrial situation. According to the relevant layout plan, Hongqiao Business District will focus on the development of headquarter economy, trade entities, business office, etc. as the principle sector, large-scale conference and exhibition centres as the functional sector, and hotels, retails and cultural entertainment industry as the ancillary sector.
From the very beginning, Hongqiao Business District has been endowed with various functional positions, and thus drafted are the new poles of economic growth in Shanghai, i.e. clusters of Shanghai modern service industry, the new platform of Shanghai International Trade Centre, the convergence of headquarters and trade agencies of domestic and overseas enterprises, and the high-end business centre serving the Yangtze River Delta, Yangtze River Area and the entire country. |
